Paula Mayorga
Paula Mayorga Burrezo (Málaga, 1987) graduated in 2011 in Chemical Engineering and holds a PhD in Advanced Chemistry from the University of Málaga. In 2017, she joined the Institut de Ciència de Materials de Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC), where the first big leap in her scientific career occurred, from spectroscopic analysis to the development of applied molecular materials for electronics and bioimaging. In 2020, she moved to the Czech Republic, first to Brno (CEITEC-BUT) and then to Prague (UCT), where she deepened in applied materials, this time inorganic, for advanced microrobots.
Currently, she has started her own line of research as Junior Leader of the Fundación la Caixa in the NANOMOL-Bio group at ICMAB, for the development of new materials for cancer therapies. Her research has recently been recognized in the XVIII L'Oréal-UNESCO for Women in Science research awards.
