She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Navarra and an M.B.A. from Instituto de Empresa. Her professional experience has been entirely developed within the Human Resources field in multinational companies. She began her professional career at ABN AMRO Bank and Andersen Consulting.

She joined Telefónica in 1998, serving as HR Director at Telefónica DataCorp. Later on, she became Director of Corporate Human Resources Development. From 2006 to 2012, she served as Talent Management Director at Telefónica España, subsequently joining Telefónica Digital as HR Director. In 2015, she was appointed HR Director for Telefónica's global units. Since 2018, Marta Machicot has held the position of Chief People Officer at Telefónica.
