María Ressa

Maria Ressa, journalist, co-founder, and CEO of Rappler, was awarded the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize. A global advocate for press freedom, she serves as Vice-Chair of the UN's Internet Governance Forum, Chair of the World Movement for Democracy, and Co-Chair of the International Fund for Public Interest Media. She’s a Professor of Practice at Columbia University’s Institute of Global Politics. Her acclaimed book, How to Stand Up to a Dictator, has been translated into over 20 languages. In 2024, she received the Cannes LionHeart award in France.
