Hortensia Roig

With a degree in Law from the University of Valencia, she obtained the extraordinary end-of-degree award. Mother and avid reader, she firmly believes that education has the power to change people's lives. She is also the driving force behind the Hortensia Roig Prize for children's literature, which aims to awaken curiosity for science and technology among girls through reading.

In addition to her responsibilities at EDEM, she is a member of the board of trustees of the Fundación Premios Rei Jaume I and the Fundación COTEC for innovation. She is also the first Spanish woman to be a member of the Advisory Board of Berklee College of Music (Boston). Her work in favor of promoting female leadership has been recognized with the Honorable Mention of the Spanish Association of Executives and Advisors in the #EJECON Awards for Genderless and Non-Gendered Talent and the #Closingap 2023 Award for innovation in equal opportunities.
