Since June 2023, Hazel Díez Castaño has been the Global Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of the Santander Group, where she is responsible for the management of cybersecurity and external fraud teams and services across the group. She has more than 20 years of work experience in multicultural environments, leading different security departments globally. Previously, she led the global Cyber GRC function, being responsible for cybersecurity governance, risk management, and compliance processes and, additionally, coordinating the CISO activity for Central Services and the SOX IT control framework.

Before joining Santander, she held several senior cybersecurity roles in the first, second, and third line of defense in various industries, including European responsibility for IT and Cyber risk, as well as global responsibility for Security Architecture and Design at Aviva, the UK's largest insurance company.
