Carol Thatcher is the daughter of legendary British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. She studied at University College London and has worked as a freelance writer, broadcaster, and author.
She has written several books, including 'Diary of an Election: With Margaret Thatcher on the Campaign Trail' (1983), and the best-selling biography of her father Denis Thatcher ('Below the Parapet: The Biography of Denis Thatcher'), whom she has described as "a role model for consorts from 1979 to 1990.

In 2008, she wrote the autobiographical book 'Swim on Part in the Goldfish Bowl: A Memoir'. In 2005 she participated in 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’.
